AVS REACHES OUT TO UTTAR PRADESH
Taking into account the pan-Indian character of Ayurvedic practice as well as the increasing domestic demand, AVS has drawn up plans to expand the reach of its services and products to the Northern, Western, Eastern and the Central regions of the Country. Setting up an Ayurvedic Hospital at Delhi and opening Branch Clinics at Mumbai, Delhi, Ahmadabad, Indore and Jamshedpur are parts of a long-term plan in that direction. Simultaneously new Authorised Dealerships representing AVS have also been opening up in these regions. A yet another Hospital is coming up at Baddi in Himachal Pradesh. All these efforts have a common objective; that is to reach the authentic classical Ayurvedic clinical service and standardised classical medicaments to larger segments of the Indian Society.
AVS had pioneered the direct retail channel modality for effectively meeting the steadily increasing demand for its reliable medicines way back in the 1930’s. It was in 2010 that AVS set up the conventional Three-Tier model for exclusively marketing its new generation formulations coming out from its Nanjangud Factory. And AVS has now formally entered the vast segments of Ayurvedic patrons of Uttar Pradesh, the largest State of the Country, by adapting this model. A Carrying and Forwarding Agent (located at Lucknow), Area Distributers and several Retail Outlets have started functioning from November, 2016. Presently, their operations cover 23 Districts of UP. An effective system of Marketing is in position and increasing numbers of Ayurvedic practitioners of the region have started prescribing both the classical and the new generation medicines coming out of the three GMP Factories of AVS. This is benefiting a large segment of the patient community of the area. There are plans to expand the reach of Kottakkal medicines to other regions of the State.
The success of this model has prompted AVS to introduce it in the State of Maharashtra; excluding the city of Mumbai and the District of Thane. The C&F Agent will be located at Pune and the operations will benefit the patients and physicians in 15 – 20 Districts, to start with. The channel will become fully functional by September, 2017.
All these extension projects form parts of a long-term plan to achieve the objective of taking the authentic practice of Ayurveda to larger segments of Indian population.
